If you're planning a visit to La Fortuna de San Carlos and the Arenal Volcano, you'll be pleasantly surprised by the variety of places and activities we have to offer. We have activities and tours that will suit everyone's taste and sense of adventure, such as horseback riding to the Arenal Volcano, a day visit to the Caño Negro wildlife refuge, rafting, canopy, hanging bridges, hot springs and more.

A minimum of two night is recommended to enjoy all these attractions.

At the reception we will help you organize your time in the best way posible and book the activity you like the most. In addition, we make available our professionally guided birdwatching tours or photography tours.



The Natural tour  Caño Negro is considered  the best place on the continent for bird watching, is also home to many other animals, such as sloths, three types of monkeys, alligators, lizards, bats, and a variety of flora typical of wetlands. The trip leaves from La Fortuna and travels approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes to Los Chiles, a rustic village just three kilometers from the border with Nicaragua.



We travel to a private farm next to the volcano and National Park. Here you will be introduced to our professional bilingual guide who will give you all the information you need to start your adventure at the top of his quad. You will start out in the open plans where you can warm up with your quad. Then quickly his crazy trip will start through the rainforest.



In La Fortuna is one of the most exciting   after by adventure travelers. The tree-top zip lines show a different view of forests and private lands in the Arenal Volcano. This Balsa river is perfect for beginners and families. This adventure consists of 2 hours of paddling through the waves fun and safe Raft River, stopping along the way for some fresh fruit and water on the banks of rivers. River Class 3/4

You will love the adrenaline-charged section 3-4 on the Sarapiqui River. This is the perfect rafting trip in Costa Rica for for  adventurous people, You will experience 12 km down the river with over 30 continuous rapids surrounded by beautiful  jungle

We will travel to  Sarapiqui town  two hours of La Fortuna. There the rafting guide will give safety advice and technical instructions . It will provide safety helmet, life jacket and paddle. 




The first hour will take you through open spaces until the Fortuna River , after which we reach the main road leading to the waterfall, where we have to travel along this street for about 15 minutes to arrive  the La Fortuna  waterfall. Once at the main entrance and we can get down to the La fortuna waterfall  of this great and beautiful waterfall where you can swim or just take pictures. On our return we will wade across the river again and this time visiting the Maleku people, they  are native to northern Costa Rica, where they will share their culture, language and traditions.

Coffee has been and will remain one of the most important for the economy of Costa Rica products. Tour that will show you, step by step, how the coffee arrives at your table at home, a family project that offers a unique experience that shows the most beautiful traditional ways we grow our golden bean. Two-hours tour through the history and process of coffee production in Costa Rica, this begins exploring the coffee fields where you can collect and sow a coffee plant, all this takes place at the foot of volcano Arenal, the farm house where the animals that share in the farm observe will visit and then see how our seeds collected are processed.

As night falls we head into the rainforest  tropical one of the most interesting attractions the Arenal Volcano  has to offer, its nocturnal fauna.This experience  will take  you  to explore  depths of nature.

 During the night walk you can easily observe  and hear  many animals  which are not visible  during the  day  ,also different species  like  amphibians and reptile interacting in natural ecosystems

Definitely an experience not to miss!

After receiving instructions from the guide, the pedal board will be addressed. It is incredibly stable and safe. It only takes the strength of your legs to navigate. The guide will instruct and facilitate a short lap as a practice and you will be ready to enjoy the calm waters of Lake Arenal.

We will head to a point strategically located along the shore of the lake to enjoy the panoramic view of the majestic Arenal Volcano. Once there, in addition to the natural history of the region, the guide will share some of the history of the lake, while relaxing and sharing a tropical fruit snack. And why not, take a dip in the lake.


After a well-deserved rest, we will return to the starting point and enjoy our navigation on Lake Arenal again.

This activity begins and ends at the entrance to the Volcano National Park. We will climb our bikes to cross the unpaved road along the southern shore of Lake Arenal, famous for its abundant wildlife and stunning scenery. After crossing Caño Negro River, we will continue our Bike Adventure on an abandoned road around Lake Arenal where some streams, family farms and protected forests cross. On the way, back we will stop in the village of El Castillo to have a delicious lunch “Typical Costa Rican Married.” 

Departure: 8 a.m. from La Fortuna and Return: 3 p.m.

The tour departs at 07 a.m  from La Fortuna. After a typical breakfast in route to Rio Celeste, we arrive at Tenorio Volcano National Park, where we start our walk 5 miles (approximately 4 hours) through the tropical rainforest. Get “Los Teñideros” Rio Celeste, the site where two streams of crystalline water come together and the color of the sky that gives its name to the river We will continue our trek through the woods, furnace vents that expel gases from the volcano at high temperature extremes will be found.


At the end of the descent you will reach the waterfall a clear view of sky blue. Our final reward is an exquisite lunch at the end of our trip.




The tour begins at 8:00 am when we left the city of La Fortuna to  La Casona we will visit the Trapiche, then take a “tractor” trip to the village Sonafluca, here in rural local supermarket participants can buy snacks, if they want , and interact with the owner and local customers.

In Sonafluca Elementary School, children will we present a selection of local folk dances and information about the education system in Costa Rica. We can have a very good interaction with children. Finally, around noon we will drive back to La Casona Rio Fortuna, where you will be informed about some aspects of their 100-year history, the environment and its inhabitants.

Costa Rica Sky Adventures making a difference as always has taken the traditional tubing tour to another level of fun and excitement.The tour is a journey into the rainforest of Arenal, which includes three canopy cables, a controlled 147 ft high fall and a path along the river for more than 3 miles in personal tubing.


The tour takes 2 hours and 45 minutes approximately, the cables ride is around 1 km and the path between them is 300 meters long, at the end of the cable segment, you get to a platform in a tree where the controlled high fall descends to the river, once in the water, each one takes their tubing and is carried away by the river current.
